John FergusonOf Counsel
John Ferguson practices in the areas of family and criminal representation and has extensive experience in business planning and corporate governance, estate planning and wills, and real estate matters. He has been a member of the State Bar of Michigan since 1997 working as a private practitioner, a public administrator for the state of Michigan and as an assistant prosecuting attorney. He is a graduate of Alma College and of The George Washington University Law School. Mr. Ferguson served as legal counsel to the Michigan Jaycees from 2004 through 2006 and as US Jaycees Legal Counsel in 2009, representing the US Jaycees at the Junior Chamber International World Congress in Tunisia.
John has lived in several areas of the country and has traveled to Africa, Europe, and South America as well as all over the United States. He makes his home in Elk Rapids with his wife, three children, and two dogs. He serves his church as Clerk of Session and the community as a member of the Elk Rapids Library Board. He enjoys cooking and wine, music and theater, mystery fiction, and baseball.
