The Food and Drug Administration has issued a safety alert and recall of certain models of Abbott’s continuous glucose monitors for providing dangerously inaccurate glucose readings. Thousands of people suffering from diabetes rely on continuous glucose monitors to keep a close eye on their glucose levels without the need to test blood from a finger stick. These tools are a major advance in diabetes testing, allowing for permanent, constant, and pain free monitoring.
